So I preformed at Colin's leaving do at my work place and it was amazing.
He's an inspiration to me, I got so much love for him and his great vision.
The poem I preformed is below!
23.
So two years ago I didn't know where I was going to be – I had an epiphany…
But there are a few brick walls in front of me while I stand still over thinking about my later life.
Ten plus twenty one years! Where am I going to be?
But these brick walls are still in front of me stopping me!
Blocking me off from the real world!
So planning for the future isn’t something I can do and you say
“You never know what the future holds…. So open your eyes girl”…
Should I really open my eyes to darkness? I can’t see so stop asking me and shouting about where I should be!
Asking me.... why this? and why that?
How can you put me on a path that isn't for me?
Just stop and let me decide where I should be…. Please!!!
It’s hard enough, society saying this. You telling me that. My teachers aint any better and then the biggest hater of all … the media!
Telling me something today but something different tomorrow!
Life is crazy and totally unpredictable... so who are you to tell me where I should be.
Where I should go…
Life is a joke but we just don’t get it so I ask... can you change your mind about me!
Can you change your mind about everything you see?
Everything you hear and everything they say!
Negative, never positive.
I will tear you down brick wall, blocking me…
No sunlight I can’t see but I will tear you down!
Blocking me off from the real world… that where I should be… in the real world
Not later in life!
Life is a joke but we just don’t get it
Because two years on and I still don’t know where I am going to be…
Twenty three
But I am now ready to set myself free…
Brick wall I am knocking you down today!
