THE NEW POET WITH A TRANSFORMED POETRY BLOG!

Poetry can be dangerous, especially beautiful poetry, because it gives the illusion of having had the experience without actually going through it.

With this new poetry blog shaping itself. I notice I have taken a complete different direction which is what I wanted to do. I didn’t wanna write anything about heartbreak or love for a while anyways, plus the themes and topics I have featured is about everything I think about daily because of whats currently going on in the world.

After recording  a few poems from my last poetry blog  "Adam & Eve - The Man in the Apple Tree", (this is on my SoundCloud), I notice a lot more people were interested in hearing my voice because they got a better understanding of what I wanted to express, reading something has a different impact to hearing it, this is talking from my own experience.

The only downside was that some people would only listen to about a minute and half which was odd to me, wouldn’t you want to finish the story? and in that very moment I then notice that I write my poems with the intentions of telling a full story but actually I can now do that with a more direct and shorter approach to get the same impact... I went on a poetry exploring to find a new way of direct writing - I started reading short poems, listening to shorter poems and writing shorter poems but I came across a problem, i felt my poems were unfinished or rushed. This became very frustrating because I'd start writing a poem and leaving it for a while, when I revisited it after a few months, it still felt unfinished or rushed so naturally I’d rewrite it as a whole which was time consuming…
What happens to those poems I don’t use? You’d probably hear them in a few years lol

So after writing and reading and rewriting over and over again… I know I just wanted an impact so that’s why I decided to pull a Beyoncé and do a short movie to go with the poems. Hmm this is where I am going to have to get overly creative with how I record the poems. This is the stage I am currently at! How do I record these poems...

Ok my plan is to spend a few weekends recording which honestly is a long process! Either way it should be fun, interesting and inspiring. RIGHT? I do hope so because I have felt discouraged many of time, reasons its taking me longer but I am sticking to releasing the poems in September along with the recordings and after I will preview the short movie weekly then drop it like its HOT and pull a Beyoncé! Lol
